14 Tamil civilians arrive government control area - Vavuniya

Fourteen Tamil civilians, who had been able to escape the LTTE's iron grip, have arrived to the Omanthai entry/exit point sought security forces protection this morning, 01 December.

According to the sources in Vavuniya, 9 males and 5 females are among the escapees. The Tamil civilians who escaped LTTE grip are residents of Vishwamadu, Pudukudiirippu and Kilinochchi areas, sources added.

Tamil civilians forcefully held in LTTE areas continuously entering into the government controlled areas escaping LTTE grip as the security forces are heading towards LTTE's main administrative bases, Kilinochchi and Mullaittivu, in multi-pronged offensive operation being in progress.
